Barbecue Sauce

Makes: 5 servings (1 tablespoon each)

         1/2 Tbsp butter

         1/4 cup finely chopped onion

         3/4 Tbsp minced garlic

         3/4 cup sugar-free cola

         1/3 cup tomato paste

         1/4 cup water

         1/8 cup keto ketchup

         1/2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

         1 1/2 Tbsp mustard

         1/2 tsp liquid smoke

         1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

         1/4 tsp paprika

         1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper



  • Place a small skillet over medium high flame and melt the butter. Sauté the onion until translucent then stir in the garlic until fragrant.
  • Stir in the tomato paste, cola, water, keto ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne, paprika, pepper, and liquid smoke. Combine very well using a whisk.
  • Let simmer for 15 minutes or until thickened. Set aside to cool before use.
